Hunter Arms Co was the maker of the famous LC Smith shotguns in Fulton, NY, from 1890-1945. The company began as Hunter & Comstock Arms Co in 1888 and was acquired by Marlin Firearms in 1945. "Hunter", "The Hunter", and "Nitro Hunter" were used as trade names by lower quality manufacturers. The Hunter Arms Co. of Fulton, NY introduced the 'Fulton' in 1915 as a less expensive version of the L. C. Smith, a side lock style side by side double barrel. The 'Fulton' was a box lock style side by side double.
