I have one with a "50 Groschen", a flower going through the "0", on the obverse, and a shield on the reverse with the words "Republik Österreich" going around.
It sounds like it's from Austria. It should have the word Osterreich (German for "Austria") on it.

The best thing to do is have a dealer or collector look at the coin, is sounds like a coin that has been put between two other coins and pressed together causing the images on the coin in the middle especially if any lettering is backwards

For starters you have to copy the wording accurately in order to search for it successfully. That should read "Bundesrepublik Deutschland", just like it says on the coin.
