Not to be a smart-aleck, but the stamp is worth 4 cents...or less. One can buy bulk stamps at online auction sites that include lots of individual and plate blocks of older stamps. These items sell at a discount to the face value, i.e stamps with a total face value of $100 typically sell for 80 to 90 dollars (in March of 2009). I have received numerous plate blocks (group of four with the serial number on the selvage) of the 4 cent Girls Scout stamp when buying postage this way. this tells me that there is no value over the intrinsic value.
