What is a 1873 Canadian coin with Alexander Mackenzie on one side and the house of commons on the other worth?

This isn't a coin, but a medallion issued by Shell Oil company sometime between 1967 and 1970. It wasn't legal tender. 1873 is the year Mackenzie was PM, not when the medallion was made.

They sell for anywhere from .50cents a couple of dollars depending on the quality and if you can find a collector.

No such coin was minted in 1873.

It could be one of 2 things:

1) a series of medallions put out by Shell Oil as part of a set celebrating Canadian PM between 1967-1970. It's worth dollar or two at most. You can identify by the picture of the House of Commons on the reverse side.

2) 1989 Silver dollar celebrating the Bicentennial of MacKenzie River. It's worth about $39 uncirculated condition. A different MacKenzie, but often confused with the medallion.
