Man-eater is another term for animals that prey upon humans. Humans beings can be attacked by several kinds of animals, but man-eaters are those that have incorporated human flesh into their usual diet. Such as leopards, lions, crocodilians and tigers, bears, snakes, wolves, sharks and even other humans.

Nice to know:

1. TIGERS: tigers are recorded to have killed more human beings than any other big cat. Tigers rarely enter human habitations, the majority of victims are reportedly in the tiger's territory when the attack takes place. Tiger attacks mostly occur during daylight hours.

2. LIONS: they are more aggressive than tigers. These animals have been recorded to actively enter human villages at night to acquire prey.

3. WOLVES: the frequency with which wolves have been recorded to kill people is low. In the rare cases in which man-eating wolf attacks occur, the majority of victims are children.

4. BEARS: it happens rarely, but when attacks do occur they are often fatal due to their size and immense strength. It occurs when bears are diseased, feel threatened or when natural prey is scarce. Starving bears eat anything they are able to kill.

5. Sharks: only a few sharks are dangerous to humans. 4 of the 360 shark species are dangerous: great white shark, tiger shark, bull shark and oceanic whitetip shark.
