I am guessing you are talking about a St. Gaudens Double Eagle coin. A 1925 P in MS 65 condition. One of those coins are worth roughly $1,575.00 The reason I said "roughly" is because gold prices change year to year, month to month, and day to day.

OK, the first thing is the name, it's SAINT-GAUDENS not st gardens. Second thing is no 1925 gold eagles were made. A eagle is a $10.00 coin and a double eagle is a $20.00 coin and they were made in 1925. The average retail value for a MS-65 example is $2,330.00
"double eagle penny" is kind of an oxymoron. A double eagle coin has a face value of $20. However, a gold coin is probably worth considerably more than face value.
A certified example in MS-63 has a average retail value of $2,100.00
You have a Coronet Head $5 Dollar Half Eagle. If it has a (CC) Mintmark and in good condition it could be worth thousands. Double Eagle = $20 Eagle = $10 Half Eagle = $5 Quarter Eagle= $2.50
A copy of any US coin has no true value aside from that of the metals used to make it.
This coin has a eagle on one side and a double eagle on the other. On the side with the eagle head it has written American Eagle Bicentennial 1985 and on the side with the double eagle is written double eagle commemorative with stars and 200 years It appears to have a silver base with the eagle's done in gold. It is in a clear plastic case. Any ideas of worth?
A certified example has a average retail value of $5,700.00
The US Mint did not produce this coin and it is probably the product of one of the private mints. Its actual value would be limited to the worth of the metals it contains.
$1,500.00
what is the value
The only legal example sold for $7,590,020 in July of 2002. Many copy's of this coin exist that have no collectible value.
It is an American Eagle gold coin, not a double eagle coin, it contains 1 ounce of pure gold, its value depends on the spot price of gold for example, today it would be worth just a bit less than $1,300. However, tomorrow it could be worth a lot more or a lot less, it just is dependent on the price of gold.
