R From past family history. 15 years ago my gradnpas friend was metal detecting and found one. he then sold it that week for 10,000$ cash. It was so much becasue at that time the war was hapening and the army wanted aall the silver so all the guarter dimes and nickels were destoryed for there silver.
A 1961 Canadian 25-cent coin can be worth about $6. A coin's actual value would be based on the silver market at the time of purchase or sale.
Current retail value is $8.00
Turn the coin over and look at the denomination on the back. It's a half dollar.

A U.S. fifty cent piece dated 1961 is a Franklin half dollar. The coin is not rare, if it shows any wear the value is about $12.00 just for the silver.
