5 Francs. The Franc was the French currency before the introduction of the Euro in 2002.
As a collector's item, it would depend on the condition it is in, and how plentiful this denomination and year combination is. At face value, it is worthless, for all practical purposes. As a matter of fact, since France adopted the euro in 2005, you might not be able to exchange this even if it were a much bigger value. In 1960 new francs were issued, with a value of 100 old francs to one new. Your 5 franc would then have been worth 5 centimes. When I was in Europe in the late 1960s and 1970 I think you could get a cup of coffee for about 50 centimes--that would have been ten of the coin you have.
Do you mean 5 centimes ? A 5 "francs" does not exist in 1911. 5 ct. 1911 : 15.386.000 coins were struck. Value : about 10 dollars in good condition.
The value of a 1918 5 francs coin with a hole in the middle depends on its condition and rarity, but generally, coins with holes are worth less than those in unaltered condition. Typically, a 1918 5 francs coin might range from a few dollars to around $20 or more, but the hole could reduce its value significantly. For an accurate assessment, it’s best to consult a coin dealer or an online auction platform.
About 50 cents - year is 1950 (AH1370)
Alas, 5 francs is now no money at all. When France went over to the Euro, the new euro was worth about 7 francs.
A 1949 Nickel is NOT silver... it's worth about 5 cents. Sorry.
