I just picked one up in good condition for $140, I've seen them range from $120-$180 though. ASM parts are harder to come by because they went out of business. Uberti or Pietta would probably bring in a higher price. Still a good gun though.

Connecticut Valley Arms(CVA) is a modern manufacture that makes replica BP guns and guns of its own design. Model 1851 refers to a Colt pistol made in 1850's. A Colt gun would not be marked "CVA".
Contact Connecticut Valley Arms through their website, and ask for an owner's manual (they are free) A typical load for round ball would be 65-75 grains of ffg or equivalent amount of black powder substitute.
The value of a Connecticut Valley Arms (CVA) double barrel black powder shotgun can vary significantly based on its condition, age, and specific model. Generally, such firearms can range from $200 to $800, with well-maintained examples or rarer models fetching higher prices. It's essential to consult recent sales or appraisals for a more accurate valuation. Always ensure compliance with local laws when buying or selling firearms.
