What is the value of a blue ball mason jar with the numbers 2 - 6 on bottom?

Hi, There are literally hundreds of mason jars. Is there a name/approx age/condition?

OVER 100 YEARS OLD "ANTIQUE JAR " BALL MASON GREEN BLUE QUART SIZE JAR

IT HAS THE CURSIVE BALL LETTERING THAT HAS THE APPEARANCE OF HAVING 3 "L's" IN BALL.

THIS JAR IS NOT EASY TO FIND IT HAS THE RARE NUMBER ONE ON THE BOTTOM.

Very good condition.

It's worth about $20.00 depending on it's condition. The number on the bottom usually represents the number of the glass blower. The glass blower would be able to keep account of how many jars he or she blew that day... The most sought after blue mason jars have the number 13 on the bottom. It was said that most of them were broken by superstitious people who didn't want to use a jar with the number 13 on it.

When it comes to old bottles, you need to be really precise in your description. My guess is that you have a jar that is marked "Ball Perfect Mason" but that limits things down to dozens of variants. Most are not worth that much but there are exceptions to every rule.

Your best bet is to post a photo with a clear description on an antique bottle forum site and connect with other collectors.

Balljars.net is a good place to start with dating and valuing a Ball Mason jar. The numbers 2-6 do not mean as much as other factors such as the exact color of the glass, the shape of the mold and the type of lid. The Ball logo is the best date indicator. It changed throughout the years.

I believe the the number 6 is for recycling purposes. There are still many variables to determine the price, but I don't think you should expect much money.
