According to USA Coin Book, these are the values:Normal Variety: In good condition, this coin is worth about $2.75 up to about $60 in MS60 mint condition. A coin in MS63 choice uncirculated grade is worth about $120. Proof coins were also minted in Philadelphia and these are worth about $310.
8 Over 7 Variety: This is a rare and valuable variety. Basically in 1888, the mint used old 1887 Indian Head Pennies and struck over them with the 1888 dies. Hence, you can see an "8" on top of a "7" in the date. In good condition, this coin is worth about $1,020 up to about $20,500 in MS60 mint condition. A coin in MS63 choice uncirculated grade is worth about $26,500. This coin is worth a tremendous amount of money in better conditions.
