There are two mint letters -
one either side of the bird tail

On a 1951 Australian penny, the mint mark is located on the reverse side of the coin, just below the kangaroo. If the penny was minted in Melbourne, it will have no mint mark. If it was minted in Perth, it will have a "P" mint mark, while those minted in London will have an "H" mint mark.
On a 1919 British penny, the mint mark is located just below the date, on the reverse side of the coin. If the coin was minted in London, it will have no mint mark. However, if it was minted in Birmingham, it will feature the letter "B," and if it was produced in Heaton, it will display the letter "H."
