As of my last update in October 2023, there are over 100 schools named after Christa MacAuliffe, the teacher and astronaut who tragically lost her life in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster in 1986. These schools honor her legacy and contributions to education and space exploration. Many are located across the United States, reflecting her impact on both teaching and the aspirations of students.

Many schools are named after Horace Mann because he was a prominent education reformer in the 19th century. Mann played a key role in developing the American public education system and advocating for free, universal education. His influence and impact on education policy led to many schools being named in his honor.

As a Girl Scout, Christa McAuliffe earned badges, participated in community service, sold cookies, went camping and hiking, and whatever else her Girl Scout troop chose to do. Girl Scouts do many things, and it is up to the troop and the adult leaders to choose and arrange the activities. Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts Council has a Christa McAuliffe library of memorabilia and a lodge at their Wabasso Camp named Christa's House. Christa was also a Girl Scout troop leader!
There are numerous schools around the world named after St. Dominic, the founder of the Dominican Order. The exact number is difficult to determine, but there are likely many schools that bear his name due to his significance in the Catholic Church and history of education.
