Well, it really depends what company your working for, but Manga is a tough business. You have to produce at least 17 pages per week (If you work for a weekly magazine), or at least 36-40 pages per month (If it's a monthly series). making a manga page could take as long as five hours, depending on how many panels there are or how much detail you put into them. Mangaka's can also get assistants, who help them achieve this goal. Without assistants, being a mangaka would be practically impossible.
Mangaka's also get payed by how popular their manga is and how many pages they complete. They must also share their wages with the assistance.
Unless your self publishing manga, that's a different experience. Hope this helped...

Masaki Satou - manga artist - was born in 1976.
If the manga is about the artist of the manga itself, (Say, if Artist A were to make a comic called "The Life of Artist A".) it would be an autobiographical manga. The manga is about another artist, (Say, Artist A makes a comic about Artist B.) it would be a biographical manga. If the manga is about a fictional manga artist, then it would depend on what genre the manga was. Drama, comedy, etc.
what is the job outlook for neuro surgeons
Most manga artists in Japan submit a 'oneshot' manga piece when they are in high school. (Usually in response to some contest a magazine puts out.) After they graduate high school, they usually start a small job and then start creating a manga. If the manga does well, they quit the job and become a full time manga artist. So, no, I don't think manga artists need a bachelor degree.
