In one of the issues of JTHM, (I forget which) Johnny confides that Squee is like an untainted version of himself, someone whom the 'filth' of the world has left untouched. (more or less, of course.) Johnny strains to be like an older brother figure to poor Squee, probably because he's one of the few people in the world who doesn't disgust him. Besides, Squee's so cute, even a homicidal maniac can't resist the adorableness.
