The New Avengers eventually are able to defeat the Dark Avengers pretty handily once they are able to take out The Sentry. After The Sentry was thrown into the sun, Norman Osborn took a beating from Steve Rogers and the rest of his team suffered defeats as well. Steve Rogers allows Bucky to remain Captain America, and instead takes on the new role of Director of Shield.
