Across town would be okay, but longer than that is going to do bad things to the transmission- unless you disconnnect the drive shaft from the transmission. If you did that, it would be okay. If you have a rear-wheel drive, perhaps you could tow with the rear wheels off the ground (car trailering facing rearward).
