Disconnect the battery (Negative) terminal for an hour. If this doesn't solve the problem then you will need to replace V.C.M (Vehicle command module)
You will fail emissions. If you dont figure out a way to make that EGR work.
A 2000 Ram does not have EGR.
DID U Clear the code B 4 U rechecked ?? Did U clean Out the Passage ways where the EGR Valve goes .
No but if there is still an EGR valve problem then its the EGR Valve switch located at the back of the motor. I replaced my EGR valve 2 times before I figured out it was the electrical switch, which had burnt up, for the egr valve. I havent had a problem with the EGR since then..
Dodge was able to meet the emission requirements with out an EGR valve. Nothing replaced it.
A 2000 Ram does not have EGR. The last 5.9L to have EGR was 1995.

Just because a code that is titled to a particular system is noted does not mean that component is bad. Check the passageway.
Don't assume that a code that is related to the EGR system is necessarily the EGR Valve at fault.
