To set cruise control on a Freightliner, first accelerate to your desired speed. Then, press the "Cruise" button, typically located on the steering wheel or dashboard. Once activated, press the "Set" button to lock in the current speed. To deactivate, you can either press the "Off" button or tap the brake pedal.
There's the Vehicle Speed Sensor... your cruise control is a matter of programming in the ECM.
There isn't a fuse.. it all goes through the engine ECM.
That goes through the engine ECM, and you'll need to have it diagnosed that way.
Have you tried pressing the cruise control button on the dash?
To the left of the steering wheel, below the dashboard is a button that says cruise control. Push that button in, the dash will illuminate the cruise control light. Then, as you reach the speed you want to cruise at, push the button on the steering wheel that says "set". When you want to turn cruise control off, simply tap the brake pedal and the cruise will go off.
My 2002 Olsmobile Intrique cruise control works some times when you set it, why?
push the cruise button on then the set button on some cars you cant set until you reach 55mph
No, when cruise control is engaged, it maintains a constant speed set by the driver without actively accelerating or decelerating. If the vehicle encounters a hill or incline, cruise control may increase throttle temporarily to maintain the set speed.
Make sure you have the main cruise control button depressed. You will then see a display light indiciating "Cruise Control". After that, just use the normal buttons to set, accelerate, and coast. BEWARE, though. The cruise control button for our 2004 Accord stopped letting me keep it in the depressed position, and I can't keep my cruise control on now. Will let you know once the mechanic takes a look at it.
When you get to speed you want to keep, press the button to activate cruise control. You will on the dash light showing that cruise control was activated. After that pull the cruise control joystick down to set the speed. If you pull toward you it resets the current speed.
Need to know exactly what's wrong with it in order to diagnose it. It could be as simple as replacing the switch, or it could require the ECM to be reprogrammed.
On the lower left side of the dashboard is a switch to turn on the cruise control. Depress the switch downward to activate. Once activated, set the speed on the steering wheel speed control.
