These trucks have two sets of linked controls, so that the operator can get a better kerbside view when collecting bins. Assuming an area where traffic drives on the right, driving normally on the main roads should be done from the left seat as normal. When the driver reaches the pickup route, he can swap sides to the right. This gives less visibility of the road but a better view of the job at hand. The controls (at least the wheel, pedals and hydraulic arm controls) are duplicated on the right hand side. When the job is done, the driver should swap back to the left, though in practice may remain on the right, particularly if the next job isn't far away
