Usual cause for brake pulling is Caliper / cylinder is not working on opposite side of pull, or brake line hose has collapsed internally---i.e.=Not letting that caliper /cylinder release fully from the previous application---thus being almost "on" before you hit the brakes. SOMETIMES this happens on alternating sides----very hard to diagnose. Hoses should be replaced as a set for each side of the car/axle.

To adjust the handbrake on a 1997 Toyota Hilux, first, ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the wheels are chocked for safety. Locate the handbrake adjustment nut, which is typically found under the center console or near the handbrake lever. Turn the adjustment nut clockwise to tighten the handbrake or counterclockwise to loosen it, ensuring the handbrake engages properly after a few clicks but does not hold the vehicle when released. Finally, test the handbrake by pulling it up and checking its effectiveness before replacing any covers.
