move to a lane not adjacent to emergency vehicle and pass with caution
That is correct, when you've pulled over for an emergency vehicle, you wait until it passes, then you can resume driving.
When an emergency vehicle with a siren and flashing lights approaches while you're crossing an intersection, you should safely and promptly move to the side of the road to allow the vehicle to pass. If you're already in the intersection, proceed to clear it as quickly as possible without blocking the emergency vehicle's path. Always be aware of your surroundings and follow any additional instructions from emergency personnel.
There is no need to pull over for an emergency vehicle using its lights and siren if you are already parked or idling on the side of the road.
Turn on your flashers to help the emergency vehicle. If the emergency vehicle is moving and has a siren running, pull over to the side of the road.

Over 100 feet away it's the law
You must pull over to the right if it is coming in back of you. That way it can pass easily. If it is coming towards you, slow down and you may have to pull over to allow it to pass from that direction as well. The whole idea is to allow it to get where it is going as fast as it can.
