In an emergency situation, the total distance needed to bring your car to a stop includes both the reaction distance and the braking distance. The reaction distance is the distance covered while you perceive the need to stop and react by applying the brakes. The braking distance is the distance it takes to stop once the brakes are applied, which depends on factors such as speed, road conditions, and vehicle condition. Together, these distances determine the overall stopping distance in an emergency.

Eba is a common African/ Nigerian food. EBA can also refer to "Emergency Brake Assist," a system fitted to some cars to bring the vehicle to a halt in an emergency stop situation as quickly as possible. It detects that the driver has very quickly released the accelerator, and depressed the clutch and brake pedal very quickly at the same time. It was developed because testing showed that when performing emergency stops many drivers quickly applied the correct pedals, but failed to apply the brake to maximum effect, resulting in the car taking a longer distance to stop than necessary. It in effect detect that the driver is attemting to perfom an emergency stop, and does it for them. In order for it to work the pedals have to have position sensors on them rather than just switches.
