It's a 10 speed unsynchronised transmission which only incorporates five major shift motions. It works in a similar fashion to the top side of a 15 speed, except you must shift progressively through all the gears.
The words "Super 10" refer to the Eaton 10 speed heavy duty manual transmission.
You'd need to replace the whole transmission.
It's known as a "Super 10"
No such thing. Are you asking about a Super Ten transmission, or a 13 speed transmission?
A Super Beetle with a manual transmission has four forward gears and one reverse. A Super Beetle with an Autostick transmission has three forward and one reverse.
Your transmission does use lube oil. It takes a thicker oil like 75w90 or 90w140 and NOT automatic transmission fluid.
If off a transmission, then it is for a Borg Warner Super T-10 transmission with an aluminum case. The gear ratios can be determined by the number of grooves in the input shaft. 2 grooves equals a "close-ratio" design (2.43 first gear) and 3 grooves equals a "wide ratio" design (2.64 first gear). Although it is a Super T-10, the aluminum cases are not as relaible or strong as the nodular iron case.
It needs an IRS Bug transmission. Any Bug from 1969 until end of production will have the right transmission in it.
