Worn or destroyed engine seals - Piston, Valve, Heads etc.
one quart 10w40 four stroke motorcycle oil. do not use car or truck oil. 10w40 4 stroke oil is car & truck oil which are also 4 stroke engines. You can use the very same oil you use in your car and truck as long as you use the correct weight which is 10w30 and not 10w40. There is no difference in so-called motorcycle oil and car or truck oil. I do however highly recommend you use full synthetic oil in any air cooled engine.

Yes it is fine to use 10W-40 oil
The Oil you want to use is 15W-40, if your truck is higher mileage I use Amsoil's Heavy truck/ Marine 15W40
There's a good chance that coolant is getting mixed in with your oil.
No - 2 cycle oil is the only oil you should use in a 2 cycle motor. Because 2 cycle oil is designed to mix with the gas and lube the motor. Your "truck oil" is not the 4 cycle oil will not mix it is designed to just lube in the crank case.
