In Jak II there is a little boy who you later found out was Jak. They sent him back in time (the setting of the first game) so he could grow up safely. In the confusion of the world somehow it was thought that he was a decendant of Mar, which is why they sent him. In the third game, Damos tells Jak to find his son, Mar. He said Jak would know him when he saw a certain amulet. Jak realized it was the same amulet the little boy (himself) was wearing. Therefore, he is Mar. He was the one who built Haven City and accomplished many great things. The means of which are not explained fully, but when the dummy precursor says "Jak, you will have more adventures in the future, or was it the past?" implies that he will have adventures later in his life, that will occur in the past. Suggesting that Jak will find means of Time Travel and go back in time to create Haven City.
