What is sak 14k?

SAK is the Maker's Mark. I'm unsure as to who the mark belongs to, but SAK marked jewelery can be found in most major department stores in the US. Maybe a buyer can clarify.

14k (or 585 outside of US) is the alloy designation for 58.5% gold. Higher numbers (18k, 24k) equal higher percentage of gold making the alloy more expensive but less durable due to the nature of gold.
