When playing Netball, you want a hair style that makes you comfortable - so not sitting on your neck to get wet with sweat eew but is not an ordinary plain hair style. adding a braid to a pony tail or bun of your choice, is a win win situation. it is up out of the way and it looks like you put the effort into your hair style. try a plat or a fishtail braid, marble braid etc. there are many braid tutorials on YouTube.
