This sign was taken from the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree" where the guy requested the girl to tie a yellow ribbon in the oak tree to indicate that he was still welcome or loved by the girl. After Ninoy's assassination on August 21, 1983, yellow was adopted by the opposition as their color. Thereafter, Cory Aquino used yellow as her standard color.
