Why Corazon Aquino always wear yellow?

She didn't ALWAYS wear yellow but yellow meant so much to her. Her husband, Ninoy, was kidnapped, imprisoned, tortured, exiled - to keep him from doing journalistic revelations regarding Marcos' graft and corruption. He was killed in Manila International Airport and his death opened the eyes of millions of Filipinos throughout the world of what was going on.

Yellow then became the symbol of this freedom... this freedom from being exiled, this freedom from the Marcoses. Like the song: "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree," the Filipinos actually tied yellow ribbons around trees all throughout the country.

In August 1983 when Cory Aquino's husband, Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, was returning home from the United States to the Philippines, yellow ribbons were tied by the allies of Ninoy in Metro Manila as a sign that they still believed in him as their leader to oppose then President Ferdinand Marcos. This sign was taken from the song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree" where the guy requested the girl to tie a yellow ribbon in the oak tree to indicate that he was still welcome or loved by the girl. After Ninoy's assassination on August 21, 1983, yellow was adopted by the opposition as their color. Thereafter, Cory Aquino used yellow as her standard color.
