Postal mail is a conventional mode of communication that involves sending physical letters, documents, or packages through a postal service. It operates on a structured system where items are collected, sorted, and delivered to recipients, often taking longer than digital methods. Despite the rise of electronic communication, postal mail remains important for formal correspondence, legal documents, and personal messages, providing a tangible and often more personal touch. Its reliability and established infrastructure make it a lasting method of communication.

I once got an E-mail reply from someone from Nintendo who gave me a really good explanation of what contact mode was... unfortunately, I do not have the E-mail anymore... (But man, I have not used Contact Mode in ever!) Contact Mode used to be used for events at Toys R Us and also to get bottled mail from people who are on contact mode wirelessly. You have to drop a bottled mail into the ocean off of Nintendo WFC to be able to go onto Contact Mode. There actually isn't much to do there.... say hi to Rover, though. ~smiller
