No, BidFire is not a scam.
BidFire is an online, pay to play, penny auction website. Penny Auctions are sometimes referred to as Competitive Shopping, where people compete against each other for huge discounts by placing bids during an auction. You can purchase bids or earn them in a variety of ways.
BidFire offers a wide range of products from high end electronics to smaller household items. You can even send in requests for products you want them to auction. They provide a fun environment to compete against others to win cool stuff!
Since people are competing against each other to win the prize, the competitive shopping arena turns into a game of skill. To win big you must study the auctions, the people bidding, & the times of day to get the steepest discounts.
bid... it's the same word in the present tense Answer: * The infinitive form is to bid - "I want to bid on the item." * Present tense is bid - "We bid what we can." * Past tense is bid - "They bid $500,000 and got the house." * Present participle is bidding - "He is bidding them farewell." * Past participle is bid - "I have bid all I can afford." (Helping verb required)
Yes, it would be regarded by many to be. You have to give them your credit card info to purchase their "bid tokens". Then you are bidding on items in an auction. Problem is, you are seeing that there is a limited time left - say 5 minutes - so you bid thinking that it's almost over. But it's not. Each bid INCREASES the amount of time left for others to bid, thus driving up the price - inevitably - to the "buy it now price". The "buy it now price" is what they charge for the product, minus whatever tokens you've already bid. Please know that the "price" is a construct, just like with any company. In other words, just because they say that a product is "valued" at $139.99 does not mean that a reasonable person would think that a juicer is worth that much. Basically, it's a site to pay more than you need to pay for overpriced junk, and for others to have paid plenty for getting nothing. (All information regarding them was found in the Terms of Service agreement, so they are technically legal, as they are telling you right up front - well, small print in an obscure section - what they are going to do to you.)
If you don't know them, and they sought you, and they want your money, it's pretty much a scam 99.999999% of the time.
No, there is no mention of PTPRSVP (People to People) being a scam. This organization offers young people student ambassador experiences.
You mean a 419 scam?"A 419 scam is an advance-fee fraud, a confidence trick in which the target is persuaded to advance sums of money in the hope of realizing a significantly larger gain. Among the variations on this type of scamare the Nigerian Letter (also called the 419 fraud, Nigerian scam, Nigerian bank scam, or Nigerian money offer), the Spanish Prisoner, the black money scam as well as Russian/Ukrainian scam (also widespread, though far less popular than the former). The so-called Russian and Nigerian scams stand for wholly dissimilar organized-crime traditions; they therefore tend to use altogether different breeds of approaches."- Wikipedia---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Below is a recent complaint filed regarding a 419 Scam:"Online Scam - Other for $2000.00 on 06/22/2009""Some one pretended to hire me and sent me some false money orders to cash. I was to get paid 10 percent. So i did and sent it to a person over seas. Then i paid the bank back"- Scam Book---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The best thing to do when you receive emails regarding these types of scams is to contact the authorities and report the email, email address and alias of the scam artist. This is a scam. They are no longer in operation and it says that they are having technical difficulties. They do not answer e-mails, and do not respond in any way. They have my money and no way to get it back. I consider that a scam. I am sure that there are many others that feel the same way.
