The Trade CycleA trade cycle is the series of exchanges, between a customer and supplier, that take place when a commercial exchange is executed. A general trade cycle consists of:Pre-Sales:Execution:Settlement:After-Sales.Finding a supplier and agreeing the terms.Selecting goods and taking delivery.Invoice (if any) and payment.Following up complaints or providing maintenance. For business-to-business transactions the trade cycle typically involves the provision of credit with execution preceding settlement whereas in consumer-to-business these two steps are typically co-incident.The nature of the trade cycle can indicate the e-Commerce technology most suited to the exchange.Commercial transactions that are repeated on a regular basis, such as supermarkets replenishing their shelves, is one category of trade cycle. EDI is the e-Commerce technology appropriate to these exchanges.Figure 1: Trade Cycle.Consumer transactions tend to be once-off (or at least vary each time) and payment is made at the time of the order.Internet e-Commerce is the technology for these exchanges, see Figure 2.Figure 2 ConsumerThe third generic trade cycle is the non-repeating commercial trade cycle and Internet e-Commerce or an electronic market is the appropriate e-technology.See the link below for more information.

Electronic media is everywhere. What are trends in marketing that result from the convergence of entertainment, communications, and technology? I believe that 'convergence' in this instance, means the interlinking of computing and other information technologies, media content and communication networks that have come about due to the evolution and popularization of the Internet along with products, services and even activities that have emerged in digital media. Advertisers try to place their ads everywhere imaginable, and one of the largest customers of online ads are the entertainment sites. Advertisers are aware of the demographics and the entertainment sites do very well on the Web. The Internet is the fastest venue of communication that can reach millions of people in a nano-second. Technology - Trade publications and direct mailings are delivering a fraction of what they did a couple of years ago. Why the downfall? The internet. Companies research more and more of their technology acquisitions on the net. Why aren't they clicking banner ads? Because they are clicking "Search Results". That's what they came for. That's what they click. With that said, what are some of the new trends? Well, one of the biggest trends is Viral marketing. Most know the phrase, but don't know what it means. Well, Viral Marketing is any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message's exposure and influence. Like a virus, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, to millions. Another trend is the use of social networking sites, such as Myspace, to advertise products. This ranges the ads you see as a side panel, to the large scale, such as fan pages created for businesses, products and even musicians. Just my opinion (bklyn_40)
The rapid spread of news about new technology is often fueled by social media platforms, which facilitate instant sharing and engagement among users. Additionally, influential tech bloggers and journalists amplify the buzz through articles and reviews, reaching wider audiences. Events such as product launches and trade shows also play a significant role in generating excitement and media coverage. Finally, the innate human curiosity about innovation drives conversations and interest, further accelerating dissemination.
