Line spacing is the space between the lines of code. Most programming languages ignore whitespace, which allows you to insert blank lines in order to help separate blocks of code to make the code more readable. However this is not strictly the same as line spacing, which is normally defined by the typeface employed by your code editor. Word-processing programs allow you to specify different line spacings depending on whether an element is a paragraph, a bullet point or some other construct. But programming editors are typically plain-text editors and do not generally have line-spacing characteristics, hence the need to insert blank lines.

The body of a business letter, or most letters for that matter, should be single spaced. However there should be a double spacing in between each paragraph. (Don't forget the special spacings in certain areas, such as for signatures and after mailing information.
To switch from single to double spacing on a PC keyboard, you typically need to use the formatting options within the software you are using. In most word processing programs like Microsoft Word, you can find the line spacing option in the formatting toolbar where you can select double spacing. Alternatively, you can use keyboard shortcuts like "Ctrl + 2" to quickly change to double spacing.
The line spacing following a secondary title should typically be double-spaced in most academic or professional documents to improve readability and separate the different sections effectively.
Most people only use two of the four types of line spacings, which would be single and double spaced. The other two are triple spaced as well as line and a half space, which is between single and double spacing.
It's usually applied to word-processing. Single line spacing (the 'norm') is text as you see here - with each line directly under the other. However - most word-processors can print text with more space between each line, simply by specifying a value in the relevant menu. For example, when submitting a novel to a publisher for reading, the 'industry standard' is to set double line spacing. This is so the reader can make comments or changes on each line - without obscuring the original text.
