The other is a safety issue - in the information age there are new threats: viruses, hackers. Criminals and terrorists also use computers and smartphones, and and fighting with them is even harder than before.

The main disadvantage today of information security is that the IT industry has been falling behind malicious users. The IT industry, currently, does not have the resources or ability to find and patch vulnerabilities before hackers find them and use them to hack customers. As computer systems only get more and more advanced and powerful, this situation will change in either one of two ways:

1) The IT industry will completely fall behind hackers and will be in a state that will be either impossible or extremely hard to recover from.

2) The IT industry will use the technology available to their advantage to collaborate and come up with new and creative ways to find and fix vulnerabilities before hackers can exploit them.

1. 1. I.C.T technology has provided access to damaging information through various websites that host destructive and immoral content.

2. 2. Unemployment - While information technology may have streamlined the business process it has also created job redundancies, downsizing and outsourcing. This means that a lot of lower and middle level jobs have been done away with causing more people to become unemployed.

3. 3. Privacy - Though information technology may have made communication quicker, easier and more convenient, it has also bought along privacy issues. From cell phone signal interceptions to email hacking, people are now worried about their once private information becoming public knowledge.

4. 4. Lack of job security - Industry experts believe that the internet has made job security a big issue as since technology keeps on changing with each day. This means that one has to be in a constant learning mode, if he or she wishes for their job to be secure.

5. 5. Dominant culture - While information technology may have made the world a global village, it has also contributed to one culture dominating another weaker one. For example it is now argued that US influences how most young teenagers all over the world now act, dress and behave. Languages too have become overshadowed, with English becoming the primary mode of communication for business and everything else.

1. Cost of Ownership: As organizations grow the costs to procure, implement, deliver and support Information technology go up significantly.
2. Complexity of Enterprise Solutions: As organizations grow and there are more and more Information Technology solutions to use and integrate, the complexity of working with them grows significantly, especially since most solutions are not made to be compatible with each other.
3. Constant Evolution of IT Options & Solutions: As an enterprise grows, as the industry continues to evolve, and as new technologies & new solutions evolve, it becomes harder and hard to keep up with them. A simple example is the purchase and implementation of enterprise software that will require regular upgrades to keep up with vendor support and maintenance terms.
4. Constant Training and Retraining of Resources: Given the constant evolution of different Information Technology solutions and the complexities associated with them, most enterprises fail to take into consideration the constant requirement to keep Information Technology Resources trained in, both, old and new IT solutions.
5. The Inevitability of IT Becoming Critical to Your Business Success: As your enterprise grows in this modern era, it becomes obvious that no enterprise can be successful without IT. The bigger the enterprise, the more IT it will require, especially if it becomes global. Large enterprises are known to spend billions of dollars on IT. This means you will have to put a significant amount of your costs and efforts into dealing with an area of your operations that most likely has nothing to do with your business core competency.
