It is not true that docking stations are usually smaller than port replicators. It is true that port replicators are typically smaller than docking stations. Port replicators usually do not have PCI slots or speakers.

If this is the same acs 410 i have...i have the subwoofer running the power...it plugs into the wall...and a purple and power wire running from the sub to the smaller speakers (satellites). then a tan wire connecting the two satellites. Then another 1/8 " headphone style jack going from the main satellite's "A" hookup to the computers green sound out jack. If you don't have the sub setup with this...and don't have a wall power pack...you will have to track one down...or the sub unit. BTW i love these...even though they are big...they sound nice. It can separate dolby sounds out the sides if you turn the surround knob on. When off it works like a normal pair of speakers. With my sub in the corner...it puts out some nice bass if you don't push it too hard.

Yes, they do. Because the depth of televisions is getting ever smaller, the speakers are also becoming smaller. Speakers built into televisions have never had a great reputation but the tiny speakers in the latest models sometimes struggle to deliver good quality sound. For this reason, there are a number of third party solutions that house speakers in separate enclosures to delviery improved sound.
5x7 no bigger no smaller.
There are eleven mainline termini in London plus hundreds of smaller stations.
Size is not a big issue other than for base reasons. When you have smaller speakers they look more attractive its easier to find a place to put them and they sound just as good as big speakers.
they are smaller than the back ones
