You can perform a hard reset of the HP Pavilion 2500 series by removing all peripheral devices, disconnecting the power adapter, and removing the battery. You will then need to hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any residual power. Reconnect the power adapter and power on the computer, test for any remaining issues.

How do you reset my computer ram drive?

Ram is temporary memory, which holds its information using constantly applied power. To reset it, you can simply shut down your computer, unplug it from power, and press the power button a few times. This will exaust the power which would otherwise be used by the RAM, thus reseting it. If for some reason this does not work, then while your computer is still off and unplugged, remove your RAM chips by releasing the latches on both sides. Almost as soon as they come out, they will reset. Then, carefully plug them back in, making sure that they latch in and seat correctly.

What is the computers 'thinking work' done in?

The basic computer has two parts: Random Access Memory (RAM) and a Central Processing Unit (CPU) RAM is a place where many bytes are stored. One of the things that can be stored in RAM is a series of "instructions" that tell the CPU what to do. The series of instructions is called a "program." The CPU "fetches" one instruction from RAM, "executes" that instruction, then fetches and executes the next one, and so on. That is all that computers do. Whether that qualifies as "thinking" is a very controversial question.

What functions does RAM peform in a computer?

RAM stores information for actively running programs so that data can be accessed and used rapidly. Contrast it to the hard drive where it has to physically write and read every bit of information, which would be far too slow to use for RAM.
