Well............
the switch is attached to a metal clasp. So when the switch is switched, the two metal paths join and creates an electricity circuit!
How Cool!
Switches / Bridges and hubs work at data link layer, but there are layer three switches which operate at network layer. Dhruv
they died because they said off
Can not connect any network
Yes but if you multiply that by millions of on/off switches suddenly it becomes quite impressive. Just look at your computer. That's how they all work. Assuming you have a database of 1 megabyte that would be eight million bits or individual switches that can be either on or off. The total number of states that can be potentially represented by a database that large would be calculated by 2 raised to the 7,999,000 power. That's a lot of distinct possibilities. "0" is off "1" is on this is binary and throught differing combo's on 0 and 1 the represent numbers and letters.
Micro switches are small snap-action switches generally used in some type of electronic circuit for some type of repetitive motion. In an air conditioning unit, a micro switch might send a signal to turn the compressor on or off when a room reaches a certain temperature.
Off and on switches connect to a current. An on switch allows the current to run through an object, essentially "turning it on". Off switches cut of this current.
Water pressure switches work as monitors in a well system. These operate electrical controls and circuits that turn on and off depending on changes in water pressure.
LAN stands for Local Area Network. LAN switches work when switches are configured to limit broadcast levels. LAN switches are produced by the company Cisco.

Ensuring electrical switches are off
er it switches off?
Most dimmer switches will work with turning it to the left will make it darker and to the right will make it brighter. If you want it on or off you just push in the switch.
It is dependant on whether the switches are in wired in a parallel or series configuration. If the switches are wires in parallel then both switches would have to be off to turn the light bulb off. Either switch could turn the light bulb on. If the switches are wired in series then both switches would have to be on to turn the light bulb on. Either switch could turn the light bulb off.

Most dimmer switches work by turning the light off for a certain amount of time...a light bulb connected to 120V 60Hz actually turns off 120 times a second...If you have it turn off 60 times a second (and stay off longer each cycle) it appears to be dimmer...This is what SCRs and Triacs do...They turn AC voltage off for a period of time, while still swithing fast enough that your eye sees no flicker.
