How do you change your password on answers?

Changing Your Answers.com PasswordGo to "My pages" in the blue box on the left-hand side of the page, and click on "My settings." Then, scroll down until you see the "Password" section. Then you type in your current password (preventing some person from changing your password if you forget to log off on a shared computer), your new password and then re-type your new password. Hit "Enter" (or "Return" on Macs) and voila! You have a new password!

Another way of changing your password

Click on the icon of the wrench in the top right-hand corner of any page. It will take you to "My settings." Follow directions as in previous paragraph.

In the message box, include a request to change your username. Don't forget to give your current username and the username to which you wish to change. (Send 3 usernames since, on occasion, the username you want may already be taken.)

What are the consequences?

Your password, profile page, list of contributions, message board messages and trust points all stay exactly as they were; there's just a new username attached to them.

In addition, all instances of your name on Answers.com - with the exception of discussion pages and the category you supervise - will be changed to the new username. If you're a category supervisor, please include that information in your email, so that your categories can be changed to the new username, as well.

Below are the steps to change password in yahoo mail

1. Go to the Yahoo Account Information page

2. Enter your Yahoo ID and password, then click Sign In.

3. Under Security, click Change your password.

4. Enter and confirm your new password, then click Continue.

5. You're almost done! After you see the message that confirms your password change, just click Continue to finish.

To change your password in answers, click on "My Settings" under "My Pages" in the sidebar. On the My Settings page, scroll down to "Account." Type your current password in the top box and your new password in the two boxes under that. Scroll down and click on the orange "Save Changes" button.

This can be done via your settings. On your left hand sidebar you will notice under "My Pages" a link that says "My Settings". Once you go there under "Account" you will be able to change your password.

Changing your username
To change your Answers.com username, please visit the Contact Us page (click here) to get in touch with Answers support.

Please send us at least three usernames you'd like us to consider, since one of your choices may already be taken by someone else.

You will not lose your messages or contributions. However your friends will need to be informed that you have changed your username, otherwise they will find that their messages to you on the website will bounce. You can let them know in either the "Just Chatting" or "Introductions" sections of the community forum.


Name vs Username
Please note that the "name" field on your profile is not your username. This is your actual real name. You can change your name yourself by clicking "Settings" while on your profile. But your username needs to be altered by a member of staff, for technical and moderation reasons.


Notice to vandals:
Changing your username does not make any warnings on your account void. They will still carry over onto your new username.
