How do you disconnect spark plugs from a 2001 L- series Saturn?

I just replaced mine on a 2000 L series. If it is the same, you need to remove the cover on the engine block(I think that's waht its called) inside you'll see four holes. Inside are the plugs. I used a 5/8 spark plug socket. Remove and replace. Pretty simple I thought. It cost me about 25.00 for Bosch plat. plugs. Hope this helps.

Spark plug gap for 2002 ford focus 2.0?

Look on the sticker under the hood. Some of the same models might be different. Someone said advised not to gap plugs, install them right out of box. Not true, do u think these plugs from another country are going to be perfect after such a trip? I installed 4 plugs out of the box, one was not correct. Had to take it out and re-gap bcuz it mis- fired. It was perfect after that. U did not mention what brand of spark plug that u gaped and installed in ur vehicle. Some say DO NOT gap bosch plugs, and say to get the ford brand. You are advised NOT to gap single plat plugs, u are safer with double plat plugs. Use a wire spark plug gaper not a solid one. Most of these double plat plugs come with a 5 year warranty. Check it out. Also, why did you have to pay $150.00 to have ur car fixed. If u changed ur own plugs, did u not think that it possibly something that u had recently done?

How do you change the spark plugs on a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant ES with a 4-cylinder?

remove the black boot cover, using a deep socket remove the spark plug. all 4 are on top. it is very simple and only taked 10-15 minutes. the 2001 galant does not have spark plug wires like most cars. i replaced mine with PLAT 4+ plugs and cut my gas by 1 tank per week.

How many miles to the gallon does a Pontiac Grand Am get?

19 city 28 hwy, On my V-6 3.4 litre, this was correct till I installed all new Bosch Platinum 4 sparkplugs, on a 5 hour drive to Denver using 87 octane gas and a cruise speed of 75 mph, my grandam was getting 32 mpg average with the new plugs, in the city I was getting around 22 mpg, not a bad increase, I recommend Bosch Plat 4 plugs anyday.

What should you gap your spark plugs at for a 2001 Chevy Malibu 3.1L?

You will be replacing your plugs with Platnum plugs they are pre gapped but you can also ask your auto parts store to check to make sure they are at the correct gap.2001 Malibu 3.1L Platinum Plug gap is .060 thousandsAnswerDont listen to the advice of someone who claims that plugs are pre gapped. the same plugs that fit you Malibu fit other makes and models too, and they all use different gaps for different types of ignitions and fuel octanes. NO PLUGS ARE PRE-GAPPED!!! get a manual that tells you the correct gap for your application or go to the dealer and ask what is best. set them to that gap. Go but 10 plugs from the parts store and you will find the gap on those plugs can vary up to 40 thousandths!!! real good for your car!!!!! One final hint! they don't make plug-gap checkers for no reason. buy one, they are cheap and make the gap right. too little gap will result in less spark-jump, leaving deposits on the plug and engine, and too big a gap will result in an intermittent mis-fire later on, and poor fuel economy. AnswerSorry - I am having trouble finding the answer to the original question myself - However, in response to the horse-hockey answers already presented: Q. Are Bosch Spark Plugs pre-gapped at the factory?A. Most Bosch Spark Plugs are factory pre-gapped for popular vehicle applications. The gap measurements are indicated either on the box, or by the part number located on the spark plug shell. X suffix = .044" Y suffix = .060" Z suffix = .080" Gaps should never by adjusted on Platinum+4 or Platinum2. Bosch Platinum+4 and Platinum2 have factory pre-set gaps, and should never be gapped by the installer.Bosch Platinum and Super Spark Plugs also have factory-set gaps. For most plugs, the setting is shown on the plug package. These gaps are correct for the most popular applications of these plugs. There are applications, however, for which the gap setting has to be adjusted according to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. To avoid damage to a spark plug in the process of adjusting the gap, it is important to follow these guidelines: To widen the electrode gap, use a tool that only pulls back the ground electrode, without applying pressure to the center electrode. The tool must not be wedged between the electrodes as that may cause damage to the insulator nose. To close the electrode gap, carefully tap the plug, electrode first, on a hard surface, as shown in the illustration.(http://www.boschusa.com/AutoParts/FAQs/SparkPlugs/)You can also go for Bosch Plat +2 or +4. They cost more but don't need to be gapped. You will always have the peace of mind knowing your plugs are working the way it supposed for up to 100K miles. I do recommend removing and checking the plugs every 7500 miles for cleaning and to prevent it from getting stuck in the engine block.AnswerThe second guy who answered sounds like an old school fool who learned auto mechanics from his grandpa. Times change. Have you ever noticed that a pre-gapped plug comes with a protective sleeve? The reason is they ARE pre-gapped and the sleeve protects them from being closed due to dropping the package. The plugs are gapped to spec and are exactly the same. They are gapped by a machine that does a much better job than you do. Most importanly, they are gapped consistently the same wich is important for even and smooth firing. Now, if you happen to drop a plug while installing it, by all means check the gap. Otherwise, even the most skilled technician cannot gap plugs as consistently as the gap machine. Save yourself time, leave them alone unless you think for some reason they were changed. Last, on some platinum plugs you can damage the electrode with your handy gapping tool. They make gap tools for a reason, to gap plugs for your classic Chevy. :P There should be a label on the underside of your hood that has the correct plug gap spec.
