I was looking for something to back up my theory that 2 containers are joined by a tube. One of the containers was full of water and higher than the other one, so that the water from the higher one flowed into the bottom one through the tube. The tube was probably sized according to the time it took for a specific amount of water to pass through it into the other container. After that had been done they put marks on the bottom one so that they could say for example that the water was up to here, therefore it was 12 o'clock.

At least that's what I heard.

What is the relationship between clock cycle time and clock rate in a computer system?

The clock cycle time and clock rate in a computer system are inversely related. A shorter clock cycle time allows for a higher clock rate, which means the computer can process instructions faster. Conversely, a longer clock cycle time limits the maximum clock rate that can be achieved.

What is the relationship between clock rate and clock cycle time in a computer system?

The clock rate and clock cycle time in a computer system are inversely related. A higher clock rate means a shorter clock cycle time, allowing the system to process instructions faster. Conversely, a lower clock rate results in a longer clock cycle time, slowing down the processing speed of the system.

What is the clock cycle time for the processor in this system?

The clock cycle time for the processor in this system is the duration it takes for one complete cycle of the clock signal, determining the speed at which the processor can execute instructions.

What is the purpose of the clock in a computer?

Clock speed determines at what speed the CPU works, in fact faster or more the clock speed faster is the processing speed. Every CPU is designed to operate at a definite speed, Over clocking can sometimes lead to malfunction.

What is the technological system for an alarm clock?

GOAL: wake somebody up INPUTS: alarm set, clock with battery and working PROCESS: the clock arrow moves as the time passes OUTPUTS: the clock arrow reaches the set time FEEDBACK: the alarm clock alarms making a sound and somebody wake up I think that is it:) just got that question for the science HW

Was the water clock the first clock in the world?

It was an old fashion water clock. As a method of telling time, the Sun could be considered the oldest clock in the world. Just by looking at its position relative to the ground, early humans could tell if it was morning, midday, evening, and nighttime. The sundial was developed as a more accurate way to tell this time, and eventually the water clock, mechanical clock and digital clock came along as steadily more accurate versions.

Where was the clock invented?

Invention of the ClockOne form of clock was first invented in Egypt. They used the water clock to tell time as they had no electricity. Clocks that used falling weights or pendulums appeared in Europe during the 13th century. Earlier civilizations used sundials to tell time during the day.

How did the clock get innovated?

It was invented in ancient China and at first it was a water clock that was used. Candles with designated markings were also used to tell time. Man has always measured time in some format.

What is the advantage of digital clock?

A digital clock can be looked at and the time will be known immediately. You do not need to know how to tell time with a digital clock.
