How does computer help or society?

It depends on what decade you want to know about. When electronic computers were first being built, they were useful in that could do long, complex calculations in a short amount of time. This was very critical to space travel, for example. We would not have walked on the moon without computers. In modern times, there are countless different ways computers help society, but in my own opinion, the most useful and socially helpful thing they can do is to run simulations. Lots of new inventions are tested in computer simulations. This is called Computer Assisted Design. Buildings, cars, military weapons, all kinds of things are tested in computer simulations before being built. Just about every car made in the last few years were made using Computer Assisted Design.
