EPROM is basicaaly of two types- EEPROM and UVEPROM. EEprom can be ereased by uising electrical pulses, whereas UVEPROM can be ereased by placing the IC in ultravoilet light for atleast 20 minutes.

How can be erase data stored in ROM?

A standard ROM or PROM cannot be erased, only erasable PROM can be erased. It is done with either UV light or electronically depending on the type of EPROM.

A ROM chip that can be programmed over and over using ultraviolet is known as what?

EPROM or Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory was invented by Engr. Dov Frohman. It is a ROM-type chip that can hold data from 10-20 years. It is different from PROM because it can be programmed more than once. An EPROM programming is erased only through exposure to ultra violet light. The EPROM is configured or reconfigured using an EPROM programmer.

Can ROM be erased or added to?

No. However there are forms of ROM that can be changed, like Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM) and Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM).

What is EPROM in computer terms?

It stands for Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. It's basically a computer chip that can have information programmed onto it - which stays on the chip even when the power is turned off (unlike RAM which is erased when you turn the computer off) The EPROM can be re-programmed by erasing the current information and re-writing new information to it.

What is the difference between PROM and EPROM?

EPROM (Electronic Programmable Read Only Memory) chips can be erased if it needs to be updated or fixed. It can be erased electronically only These are comparatively expensive than PROMs. PROM (Programmable Read Only Memory) chips are relatively once written and to rewrite them you need to replace entire data on it. These are relatively less costly. PROM is the Programmable ROM that allows the user to store data. an instrument called a PROM programmer does the storing by 'burning in', once the data has been burned, the data cannot be erased! On the other hand, an EPROM allows the data to be erased by the help of uv lights. i.e EPROM is uv light erasable and electrically reprogrammable.

What is the meaningful of eprom?

EPROM stands for Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory.

Which type of data is present in EPROM?

Cannot be universally answered, it depends on the current EPROM. It might be empty as well.

What is ROM eprom eeprom ram?

Here ya go found this on the Internet for you: Acronym for erasable programmable read-only memory, and pronounced ee-prom, EPROM is a special type of memory that retains its contents until it is exposed to ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light clears its contents, making it possible to reprogram the memory. To write to and erase an EPROM, you need a special device called a PROMprogrammer or PROM burner. An EPROM differs from a PROM in that a PROM can be written to only once and cannot be erased. EPROMs are used widely in personal computers because they enable the manufacturer to change the contents of the PROM before the computer is actually shipped. This means that bugs can be removed and new versions installed shortly before delivery.
