Ada Lovelace (1815-1852) (the only legitimate child of the famous British - poet Lord Byron) did not make computers. She is credited however with writing the first computer program.
She worked with Charles Babbage who had designed some mechanical machines. She was in effect writing programs in that she was manipulating symbols according to rules for a machines that Babbage was designing. She also foresaw the capability of computers to do more than calculations.
Ada Lovelace wrote a book called Flyology. It contained some of her of the anatomy of birds which she have been studying.
Ada Lovelace died from a bloodletting. She had been diagnosed with Cancer of the Uterus, and this was a common treatment for Cancer at the time. Of course modern medicine knows this bloodletting for cancer is useless and dangerous, but medicine was much more primitive at the time.

The Countess Ada Augusta of Lovelace is usually credited with designing and writing the first computer program. However as the computer it was written for, Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, was never built this program was largely an academic exercise. The first program for a computer that was actually built was designed in 1944 and ran on the British cryptanalytic computer Colossus. It is unknown who did the work as the entire project was classified and most of the records were destroyed after the war.The first program for a stored program computer (the type that modern computers are), consisting of 17 instructions, was written by Tom Kilburn, and first ran on June 21, 1948 on the Manchester Baby computer.
Ada lovelace was known for her computing skills. She figured out difficult problems. Which computers and calculators figure out for us now..

Lady Ada Lovelace's contributions can be seen in the field of computer science, particularly in her work with Charles Babbage on the Analytical Engine. She is often credited as the world's first computer programmer for her notes and algorithms created for the machine. Her writing and vision laid the groundwork for modern computer programming and algorithms.
