Twisted pair cabling has 4 pairs of wires (8 wires in total), but 10BASE-T and 100BASE-TX requires only 2 of those pairs (4 wires in total).

Exams will often try to trick you by asking questions like 10baseT uses how many pairs so you think you're being asked how many pairs does it have? When really you're just being asked how many pairs does it use.

How many wire pairs in a CAT 5 cable are actually used for transmission and reception on a 10BASE-T network?

2 wire of pair

What technique is used to achieve 1-Gbps throughput over a CAT 5 cable?

CAT5 cable is actually not able to sustain 1Gbps transfer rates, as the two pairs that are used only for grounding in CAT5, and are used for signal in CAT6, are not controlled as tightly as is necessary for full throughput. A gigabit network, finding itself connected with CAT5 cable, will degrade itself to 300Mbps.

On a 10base t network what describes how the wires of a utp cable are used to transmit and receive information?

One wire pair handles data transmission, while another wire pair handles data reception. Network+ Guide to networks pg. 103

Which best describes how the wires of a UTP cable is used to transmit and receive information on a 10base-t network?

One wire pair handles data transmission, while another wire pair handles data reception.

What are telecommunication processors?

Telecommunications processors. Support data transmission and reception between terminals and computers. They include modems and switches. A modem provides an interface between a computer (or network) and the phone line, cable line (or cellular connection).

Does a fiber optic cable allow two way data transmission?

A network optical cable will have (with multi-mode anyway) two connection, one for transmission and one for receiving (TX/RX) data. So over one fiber? No, transmission or receiving only. Over an actual fiber network cable which is a bound pair? Yes.

Which OSI layer is responsible for binary transmission cable specification and physical aspects of network communication?

Physical

How many wire pairs in a cat 5 cable actually used for transmissions and reception on a base-t network?

it only requires 2 pairs for trasmit and receive, usually orange and green. You can swap the orange and green pair in an RJ-45 on one side of the cable to make a crossover. TIA568B to TIA 568A.

What network access uses radio frequency or other means of media free transmission?

Do Broadband cable rely on the PSTN for transmission medium?

No. broadband does not use Public Switch Telephone Network (PTSN).

How do the characteristics of coaxial cable compare with twisted-pair cable?

Both the coaxial cable and twisted pair cable have a basic connection medium for network cabling. <<>> Coaxial cable can be used for transmission of RF (radio frequencies) whereas Cat 5 (twisted pairs cable) can not.
