I can't play on the sims2 for my lap top and it said please ensure the disk is in the drive so I checked to see if it was in the drive and it was?

Make sure it's clean. The inner track sometimes gets dirty from putting your finger through the hole. If you have a DVD player/burner in your laptop this could be the problem. DVD players in laptops have problems reading CD's after a period of 8 monthes and further.
