Will a dc power cord from a Compaq V2000 work on a Compaq nc6220?

All power adapters have to match the Wattage, Voltage and Amps exactly. So you have to look on the adapter on both of the power adapters and see if they match. If you use a power adapter that has more power than is needed you will fry the motherboard so be carefull. The wattage, voltage and amps are on the adapter..

How do you download pictures from a Sony digital camera with just the usb data cable and not the software using Compaq Presario V2000 Unsure what the op system is Unable to install Sony camera drivers?

Normally, even without the driver, your computer should recognise the camera as an external storage drive and assign it a drive letter, just like a hard disk or CD drive. If you are usng windows XP, try this: # Go to control panel and double click the System icon. # On the Sytem applet, click Hardware tab. # Click on the Device Manager button. # In the Device Manager window, look for any yellow icons with exclamation marks. # If you find such an icon, right click and select Uninstall to remove the offending driver. # Then re-install the original driver that came with your Camera. Remember to connect the camera to the PC only AFTER installing the drivers, or when prompted by the software. I do hope this solves your problem...:)

Can any VCR play VHS tapes?

Only a VHS or S-VHS machine can play VHS tapes. Even then there may be restrictions around the television system, for example not all PAL (European) VHS machines can play NTSC (USA) recordings, and very few PAL models would play SECAM (France) recordings. There are also considerations around recording speed. Most modern VHS machines will play Long Play tapes, but since Long Play is not part of the VHS format, they may not play particularly well. In NTSC countries there are also EP recordings, but this system was not widely available in the PAL markets. Furthermore, certain time-lapse recordings from security type recorders will not play on a normal VHS player. Of course, if the machine is not VHS based at all, then the tape will not play (and in almost all cases will not even physically fit onto) a non VHS machine. Formats apart from VHS include Betamax, Betacam, Umatic, Video8/Hi8, miniDV/DV/DVCAM, V2000, MII, and dozens more besides.

Why is the frequency of current 50Hz in India against 60Hz in the USA What should be done to make it 60Hz in India?

A lot of points are factored when a utility decides to choose 50 or 60 hertz, sometimes it may even been a political rather than a technical one. We have seen various types of wars on measurements types of units used or have been an interested but an innocent invitee in format wars in electronics like 8 track v/s cassette, v2000 (an excellent system) V/s the betamax (also with some notable features) and the vhs. Now we are also extended into the video disc formats. However if we were to look closely many of us will agree that 60hz is a good choice. All inductors and motors could be smaller, and the benefits will encompass a wide array of electrical and electronic goods to which the changes will almost be transparent. But it should be noted that most critical and large capital intensive plants and machinery, including certain medical equipment, will not take too kindly to such a change, which, besides straying from the critical specs, or worse still may give up altogether, unless expensive time consuming replacement or an equally complicated and efficient cycle converter is installed before the system is connected to the mains. As a historical note, 60Hz was originally chosen in the US to help market AC power systems to customers. The ploy was that a clock could run using a synchronous AC motor and at 60Hz, the gear mechanism would be greatly simplified. Then the job of keeping accurate time fell to the electricity company by maintaining a constant frequency. Prior to this, many different frequencies had been tried. As regards 50 Hz in India it is descendant of the British Imperial system. Technically speaking operating 50 Hz versus 60 Hz would not make much difference but, to achieve it, either the prime movers - for example steam turbines, gas turbines and diesel engines - would need to be able to tolerate a 20% increase in speed or the alternators they drive - which produce the electricity - would need to be completely rebuilt with extra poles and windings so that they could continue to run at the same rotational speed. The costs of doing such re-engineering would be enormous and could not be justified as "economically worthwhile" from the point of view of actual necessity, quite apart from the severe problems which would be caused to assuring operational continuity of service whilst such changes were made. Further, for any load equipment - machines, appliances, etc. - that have reactive components (capacitors/inductors), the effects of a frequency change from 50 Hz to 60 Hz on such impedances would not be trivial and would significantly alter their in-circuit behaviour. This means changes would have to be made to the sizes all such reactive components to achieve the same effects at the higher frequency. Doing that would be yet another enormous cost of conversion from 50 Hz to 60 Hz which could not be justified as economically worthwhile.

Can you use a Belkin 802.11g router to connect to another wireless network and then share the other wireless network though its own 4 Ethernet ports?

The wireless bridge function is no longer available. All recent versions of the Belkin F5D7230-4 router (version 7000 and above) no longer support this function although I cannot find any announcement on the Belkin website. Check the version number on the outside of the package. The web screen for version 7000 does not have the "wireless bridge" option. This is from a search I did on the Belkin web site. This tells you how to setup the router to become a bridge. How To: Configure WDS (Wireless Bridging) with the 54g routerThe information in this article applies to the following products:802.11g Wireless DSL/Cable Gateway Router (F5D7230-4)802.11g Wireless Network Access Point (F5D7130)Router Configuration1. Open a Web Browser 2. In the address bar type http://192.168.2.1 3. Click on Wireless Bridge in the left hand column under Wireless 4. Enter your password if any and click Submit 5. Check the box that says Enable Wireless Bridging, click Apply Changes. 6. Click Home, note the WLAN MAC address under LAN settingsAccess Point Configuration.1. Open a Web Browser 2. In the address bar type http://192.168.2.254 3. Click on Wireless Bridge in the left hand column under Wireless 4. Enter your password if any and click Submit 5. Check the box that says, Enable Wireless Bridging 6. Check the box that says, Enable ONLY specific Access Points to connect and enter the WLAN MAC address from the router, click Apply Changes. Note: The channel must be identical on both the router and the access point.Note: The WDS feature is not completely specified in IEEE or Wifi standards. Therefore interoperability between 802.11 products of different vendors is not guaranteed.Yes, you can, but only using Belkin Router and Access Point, or 2 Belkin Routers (one configured as AP).You must set the MAC Addresss of AP in the Router and the WEP (Also channels must match).I have 2 Belkin routers in Bridge. You know it is working when you get DHCP from the AP. I tried using two belkin routers (802.11g, Firmware 4.05.03, Boot 2.01.09, Model F5D7230-4V4) in a chain. The layout is like this:Cable Modem
