They make computers smaller, faster, and perhaps more reliable. First computers were made of vacuum tubes. They were later made using transistors. After that, the transistors were moved to integrated circuits. From there was VLSI, or very large scale integration.
Characteristics of a Computer System
Accuracy
: computers operate at a very high degree of accuracy. It does not become exhausted easily tothe extent of making mistakes.
Speed:
computer is generally known for its speed. The speed of computer is measure in millions ofinstruction per seconds and it increases progressively as the computer develops.
Reliability:
the computer responds to the instruction keyed into it without any alteration, as a result ofthis, it gives no room for doubt over out output. Therefore, the operator relies on it for effectiveness.Example include a program computer device to ring alarm to alert workers of any emergency, aprogrammed entry and exit door used in big companies and supermarkets, offices, etc.
Versatility:
it fits into different fields of human endeavor ranging from business, education, technology, engineering, law, commerce, agriculture, medicine, sports.etc it can perform different types of tasksprovided such tasks can be stated in logical way for the computer to execute.
Large Storage Capacity:
vast quantities of data stored in paper files would become extremely bulky andrequire substantial storage space. Furthermore, the job of manually extracting data from such files wouldbecome increasingly tedious and time consuming as the size of the files increases. But with the computer, data can be stored electronically in considerable less space, and retrieve in a fraction of the time neededby the manual method. The ability of the computer to store, retrieve and process data, all without humanintervention gives it power and appeal over that of human. So, while human can perform the same function as the computer, the difference and major benefits is thatthe computer can reliably execute millions of instructions in a second and stored the result in an almostunlimited memory.
Programmability:
The computer can be programmed to do all forms of activities of man. Programming incomputer means the act of writing computers programs and this involves the use of special set ofcharacters, signs, symbols, to supply instruction to the computer for execution towards achieving specifictasks (motives). This opportunity gave room for the computer to be a versatile system
they like other computers, they're cute, and like long walks on the motherboard
Operational amplifiers are usually bought as an i.c., but they may be constructed with discrete compenents too. By the way, since i.c. means integrated circuit, your "ic circuit" reads as "integrated circuit circuit".
the first electronic computers were built before the invention of the transistor or integrated circuit chip. They used vacuum tubes for the processing and temporary memory. In Britain those tubes were called valves.
There weren't any, at least not technically computers. There might have been circuit boards.
That is most commonly identified as the 3rd generation.
hi, im bob !
Large Scale Integrated Chips
Both hybrid integrated circuits and monolithic integrated circuits were used in third generation computers. These integrated circuits contained from 4 to 100 transistors per integrated circuit. The image above shows hybrid integrated circuits of the type used in the IBM System 360 line of computers.
The integrated circuit chip.
integrated circuit computer or microprocessor
True. Some of these computers used hybrid integrated circuits (e.g. IBM System/360) and some used monolithic integrated circuits (e.g. Apollo Guidance Computer, Minuteman II Guidance Computer)
That will depend on the integrated circuit.
He invented a monolithic integrated circuit using germanium in 1958. While it proved the concept of the monolithic integrated circuit, unfortunately it was not practical for commercial production and sale as the electrical connections between the integrated components on the chip had to be done entirely by hand under a microscope. The first practical monolithic integrated circuit was invented by Robert Noyce in 1959 using silicon.
Well, I would say so since it is an integrated circuit with all the characteristics of an IC.
A: Every part used in electronics has characteristic particular to its operation. Characteristics are property of a particular device.
A small capacitor can be part of an integrated circuit.

Integrated Circuit or Monolithic Integrated Circuit or IC is an electronic circuit set on a plate. Its microscopic pathways carries electrical currents.
