The little red, almost rust colored, lines in the rear window of many cars is the Rear Window Defogger. Sometimes, this is also referred to as a "Defroster". When the Rear Window Defogger is activated, a small amount of electricity is applied to those red lines, which causes them to increase in heat temperature. In turn, this will help to warm up the glass surrounding the wires, which in turn helps to de-ice or de-fog the window.
vehicle body networking is just a way to use less wire through-out the vehicle e.g instead of running a wire from the rear light to earth on the battery you just earth the rear light to the vehicles chassis.
This Television is a rear projection CRT display. Front projection uses a self contained "Projector" usually hanging from the ceiling and shoots the image onto a fabric screen or wall. The projector in the RCA HD52W59 is actually inside the base of the unit and the projected image is bounced off of a mirror and onto the back of the screen There are many types or Rear Projection displays: CRT, LCD, DLP, LED and Laser.

One of three things usually fails on a rear defroster. The switch can fail (it should have a light within the switch which should be illuminated when turned on). The tabs can break off the rear glass. Or the lines have "worn" off the glass. Both of these should be able to be repaired by a glass company for a small expense.

i believe that the antenna for these cars are on the rear window - the two vertical lines that are near the window brake light.

If you are talking about those lines (sometimes red in color) on the rear window of a car then this is a simple explanation: All that happens is that when you press the button that is responsible for the defrosting action, it heats up those lines. The energy comes from the cars battery. As the lines heat up the defrosting occurs.
