what is AM and FM AM normally refers to Amplitude Modulation while FM refers to Frequency Modulation. As the names suggest, in AM, the carrier wave is modulated by the amplitude of the input signal/waveform while in FM, it is based on the frequency. For further information on how exactly it's done, just run a search for Amplitude Modulation / Frequency Modulation and you should be able to find more detailed information about them.

Why do FDM FM microwave systems use low-index FM?

because high-index fm is too mainstream

What is an Antenna FM Trap?

The FM Trap is used to reduce offending FM signals that can cause audio and video interference. Designed to attenuate the entire FM band and Average -26dB. It's a piece of hardware between the antenna and the preamplifier.

2 advantage of FM over SSB?

no

What is FM threshold effect?

An important aspect of analogue FM satellite systems is FM threshold effect. In FM systems where the signal level is well above noise received carrier-to-noise ratio and demodulated signal-to-noise ratio are related by: The expression however does not apply when the carrier-to-noise ratio decreases below a certain point. Below this critical point the signal-to-noise ratio decreases significantly. This is known as the FM threshold effect (FM threshold is usually defined as the carrier-to-noise ratio at which the demodulated signal-to-noise ratio fall 1 dB below the linear relationship given in Eqn 9. It generally is considered to occur at about 10 dB).

Can you hack other FM frequency range to say your things?

If you are asking, "can you override commercial FM radio stations to put your own voice on air", the answer is yes, if you have a powerful enough transmitter. However, commercial broadcasts are monitored by the Federal Communications commission in the United States, and by similar groups in other countries. They can locate your transmitter and shut it down or destroy it, if it is interfering with a commercial station. Many stations will use a wireless link to get from their studio to the transmitter, and you may be able to break into that wireless link; I know of at least one case where this was done accidentally, with one commercial FM station taking over another FM station's transmitted signal. However, again that will attract the attention of the FCC.
