Go to network properties for the IP address for the connection you need. If you need a local address, it would be the LAN or WAN IP or just the computer name. If you need the global IP, use http://www.ip-adress.com/

∙ 14y agoThere are 2 different types of addresses to every networking device, including computers. There is the IP Address and the MAC Address. Both of these addresses can be used to trace a user back to their networking device.
The IP Address will change everytime you connect to a network (unless you have that network set to assign a specific IP Address). No two devices on the same network can have the same IP Address. The first version of IP Addresses is called IPv4, which is because the original IP Addresses had 4 numbers in the range 1-255 separated by periods (Ex. 152.165.132.205). Because most people nowadays have more than one networking device, a new version of IP Addresses has been released which is called IPv6, which is made up of 6 sets of numbers, still in the range of 1-255.
The Mac Address is a permanent address that every networking device has. This address however never changes, and is unique to that device. No Mac Address is used more than once. Mac Addresses are made up of 6 sets of numbers or letters (Ex. 01:23:45:67:89:ab)
